behind the finished garments.

The Aquamarine Shawl

This design, knitted in beautiful Manos silk,

was inspired by the deep blues and greens

of an underwater scene.

The stitches I chose, were used to reflect

the roll of the waves and the

curves of the scales on a mermaid's tail.

 I finished the shawl with

some tiny blue, green and transparent beads

to add just a touch of shimmer.

The Aurora Shawl

The inspiration for this shawl

was the delicate hues of colour

seen in the Northern Lights.

The stitch pattern evolved from the gossamer lightness of a spider's web

and tiny beads were

added to each end

like the dew droplets on

an early morning spider's  web.
